hbernier Posted October 16, 2011 at 12:37 AM Report Share Posted October 16, 2011 at 12:37 AM Our AKC licensed Club has the following included in its constitution:SECTION 1.ClubMeetings. Meetings of the Club shall be held in the Chicagoland area in the months of January, March, May, August, October, and December in each year, or at any other time and place as may be designated by the President. Written notice of each such meeting shall be provided on the Club Website and electronic list and in the newsletter, if published. The Quorum for such a meeting shall be equal to 10% of the Illinois members in good standing as of the first of the year.If the Club President calls for a Meeting "at any other time and place", say the Month of November; does this automatically cancel a meeting that "shall" be held in the Month of December?Thank you or your input.with best regards,Howard Bernier
Chris Harrison Posted October 16, 2011 at 12:42 AM Report Share Posted October 16, 2011 at 12:42 AM Questions of Constitutional interpretation are for the organization to decide for itself. See RONR pp. 588-591 for some principles to help you all with that.
J. J. Posted October 16, 2011 at 01:22 AM Report Share Posted October 16, 2011 at 01:22 AM I don't see anything in the passage you quoted regarding the cancelling of a meeting. Nothing in RONR would grant the president that authority.
