Mark41 Posted October 16, 2011 at 07:08 PM Report Share Posted October 16, 2011 at 07:08 PM Is their a proper form for a club member to see the treasurer's books? We have a club member wanting to see the treasurer's book, although I know they are permitted I think there is a form they need to fill out. Chris Harrison Posted October 16, 2011 at 07:30 PM Report Share Posted October 16, 2011 at 07:30 PM RONR doesn't require (or even suggest) that a form be filled out to see the Treasurer books. If it is desired to create a form then it will be up to you all to come up with it. However, I don't see why it couldn't be treated the same way as a member wishing to examine the minutes (call the Secretary/Treasurer and set up a time to come into their office and review them). J. J. Posted October 16, 2011 at 08:33 PM Report Share Posted October 16, 2011 at 08:33 PM Certainly any treasurer's reports may be inspected at a reasonable time as per page 460.

Guest Edgar Posted October 17, 2011 at 02:05 PM Report Share Posted October 17, 2011 at 02:05 PM do copies of treasurers reports and secretary meeting minutes be given just because a member requests them? No, copies need not be given. The member's right is limited to viewing the records at the secretary's (or treasurer's) convenience.

The member's right is limited to viewing the records at the secretary's (or treasurer's) convenience.I don't think there's any rule, implied or otherwise, that gives an individual member a "right" to examine anything in the care of the Treasurer, though the reports of the Treasurer should be on file with the secretary and thereby accessible to members. I'm not suggesting that Edgar insinuated otherwise; I just wanted to make the point.
