SPENDING AMOUNT OF THE BOARD LIMITS

OUR BOARD HAS RECENTLY SENT OUT A LETTER PRIOR TO VOTING ASKING FOR PERMISSION TO SPEND UP TO 25OOO,00 without asking for a 2/3 home owners vote on the item or project ,we have been at $5000.00 since the project was built and never had a problem ,now that they heard people are upset about that amount, they just sent out a letter lowering for a vote of only $15ooo,oo saying it has to do with inflation !!! . without home owners vote of 2/3 rds .does this seem right or shoud we be very careful since they will not need us to really say ok to anything they themselves would like to do and we will not even have a say .pleae can we get a couple of views on this matter

we really are asking if we should vote YES OR NO ,IS THE 5000.00 ENOUGH AS ALWAYS HAS BEEN

yes it is !!!! lol it is all about them having control over everyone and doing whatever they want done without homeowners opinions !!!!!! and not any say at all with that much to spend whenever they would like

I believe Edgar's point is that you already started another thread with the same question -- best just to continue the discussion there.

Well, now we know what your question is, at least, but the answer won't be very helpful - it's up to the members to determine whether they should vote yes or no on the proposal. Whether this proposal is in the best interests of the society is beyond the scope of RONR and this forum.

What do the By-laws state about the Board's power? If the Board has the right to set the Budget and dues/fees then the Board can do so without the owners' consent. If the Board does not have the power to do this read Chapter XX of RONR or your organization's own disciplinary process if the Board refuses to hold a vote.
