Member of a SMALL 501C3 organization. Have President/VP/Sec/Treasurer. President is a nurse who takes alot of on call visits and can't always be at the meetings. Someone volunteered to be "meeting moderator" and now she has "TAKEN OVER" the meetings, screaming out rules/laws/insults. We want her out and the President to preside. We hope there is a article/section in the TN 501C3 law that says we MUST have president presiding and NOT a meeting moderator. HELP!!!!!!

If the Pres can't be there, the Vice-President is automatically the presiding officer. Just tell your "volunteer" to go sit down.

If you are unhappy with the V-P, as moderator, you can elect someone else to moderate for that meeting -- 2/3 vote needed to do so. In ALL cases it is up to the assembly to select the moderator it likes.

Note that this forum will not tell you anything whatsoever about possible statutes governing 501c3 organizations in Tennessee.

However, as noted by previous posters, under the rules in RONR your assembly does not have to put up with the self-appointed moderator and her antics.
