Guest CMatt Posted May 15, 2012 at 03:03 PM Report Share Posted May 15, 2012 at 03:03 PM After reviewing our Unions By-laws, I found out that we are in violation when it comes to Negotiations. The team & board, approved the tentative aggreement even though 2 members voted no. There is yet to be a membership ratification vote, so it there anything that can be done? The by-law read:B. Negotiation Committee/Negotiations Team4. In order to submit a proposal to the membership, the negotiations Team members must all approved the proposals. In the event one member of the team persists as the only dissenting vote, the team, by a two-third vote, may refer the proposal to the Executive Council. The Executive Council after hearing arguments for and against the proposal from the Negotiations Team members, may, by two-thirds vote, override the dissension and thereby send the proposal to the membership for ratification vote. George Mervosh Posted May 15, 2012 at 03:05 PM Report Share Posted May 15, 2012 at 03:05 PM We cannot interpret your rules here. If you feel there is a violation of your bylaws, raise a point of order at the next meeting.
