Guest newbee Posted May 22, 2012 at 07:50 PM Report Share Posted May 22, 2012 at 07:50 PM Our Local office is being sued by a former Business Representative for wrongful termination due to poor work performance. Three months earlier he and the rest of the staff received a promotion and sizeable raise. The BR also stated he thinks it stems more from him not following instructions to "get rid" of members. A police report was also filed. The I.O. does not want to get involved and has said since the Local hired the BM it is the President's responsibility to remove him. How do we have him and his staff removed while this legal investigation is pending? This is a first for our Board. Help!

Guest newbee Posted May 22, 2012 at 08:00 PM Report Share Posted May 22, 2012 at 08:00 PM We talked about getting a lawyer, however, since the BM is also the Financial Secretary we wondered who would approve the payment of funds to the lawyer. We could not use the staff attorney because of the conflict of interest in the case.
