Guest hg Posted May 23, 2012 at 12:53 PM Report Share Posted May 23, 2012 at 12:53 PM A topic needs to be discussed by the board of trustees regarding a non-public issue. What is the correct way to go into executive session, does it require a motion/vote or can the president call for it without a vote? Does the topic of the session need to be announced prior to that vote/session? Can a motion be passed while in executive session, or does the board have to come out of executive session to vote on a motion? Should discussion while in executive session be included in the minutes of the meeting?

See p. 468 ff.
Gary Novosielski Posted May 23, 2012 at 01:16 PM Report Share Posted May 23, 2012 at 01:16 PM But be advised that in public (governmental) bodies, executive session often has additional rules specified by Sunshine Laws or other statutes, that would supersede the rules in RONR
