Gary c Tesser Posted August 13, 2012 at 04:24 AM Report Share Posted August 13, 2012 at 04:24 AM Do your bylaws address any of this? -- Such as, do the bylaws authorize the chairman to accept the resignations of board members, on his own? And do they authorize the President to accept the resignation of the Chairman?(That perhaps looks as if I'm unfeelingly throwing Guest Richard Herrington's questions back at him. But there it is.)(Oh, and I can't resist. Forum monitor, please.)
David A Foulkes Posted August 13, 2012 at 03:47 PM Report Share Posted August 13, 2012 at 03:47 PM If the entire Board of Directors submit their resignations to the Chairman and the resignations are accepteds, can the Chairman at the same meeting submit his/her resignstion to the President of the organization? One tag-along question -- what sort of meeting is this? Board? General membership? Other? My curiosity is regarding the sustaining of a quorum once the entire board's resignations are accepted. If, at that moment, the meeting becomes inquorate, I'd say the chairman is stuck. Just wonderin'. But, first to Gary's questions.(Oh, and I can't resist. Forum monitor, please.)Please, what? Gary Novosielski Posted August 13, 2012 at 10:57 PM Report Share Posted August 13, 2012 at 10:57 PM Resignations are ordinarily submitted to the secretary, but you may have different rules. I presume you have some reason to think that's not allowed. What is it?
