Guest yogolf Posted December 6, 2012 at 05:54 PM Report Share Posted December 6, 2012 at 05:54 PM Does the voting on a by law change need to be by ballot or can it be a show of hands? We are just changing our Presidents Cup tourney to a different name.
George Mervosh Posted December 6, 2012 at 06:17 PM Report Share Posted December 6, 2012 at 06:17 PM Bylaws amendments typically require more than a majority vote and a rising vote should be taken. RONR notes: "The final vote on a bylaw amendment should be counted and recorded in the minutes unless it is nearly unanimous." RONR (11th ed.), p. 594The assembly could order a vote by ballot, but a show of hands is reserved for very small assemblies.[edit] Oh, and you're satisfied with the answer can I get an 8:00AM tee off time, weather permitting?
