BOD Member Forced to Resign

If the BOD has asked one of it's members to resign due to violation of the "Code of Conduct", does the BOD need to vote to accept the resignation? If so, is the member in question eligible to vote?

Resignation is a voluntary act so no one can be "forced" to resign. But, yes, a resignation must be formally accepted (or rejected). The resigning member should not vote (though, presumably, he would vote to accept his resignation since, as noted, his resignation is voluntary).

If the member doesn't want to resign and the board wants him removed, it will (probably) have to ask the (general) membership to do that.

Where would I find this in the book? I need a Chapter or article # for 'proof'.

Chapter Twenty (the book calls it "XX", so you drink beer while reading it to keep calm); Section 62 (within Chapter Twenty), "Removal from Office ...", but better read the whole chapter.

(There are no "articles" in RONR; earlier editions did use them.)

c.t. 6. Heaven help the Original Posters, on whose contributions the life of this forum depends.

Also, to expand on the "resignation is a voluntary act", the member can choose NOT to resign, even if the BOD has asked him or her to do so.
