Guest Victoria Posted February 9, 2013 at 09:44 PM Report Share Posted February 9, 2013 at 09:44 PM A member of our executive board resigned with 6 months left until elections. Should the next runner up be put in until elections in August or have election again to fill the post?

Guest Edgar Posted February 9, 2013 at 09:48 PM Report Share Posted February 9, 2013 at 09:48 PM Should the next runner up be put in until elections in August or have election again to fill the post? The next runner up (aka "the loser") does not get the job. If your bylaws don't provide a method for filling mid-term vacancies (e.g. appointment by the board or by the president), you'll have to hold an election. If they don't, then hold an election.
