WMont Posted September 16, 2013 at 08:00 PM Report Share Posted September 16, 2013 at 08:00 PM Our church by laws were challenged by a member because we have a clause that states that the pastor is considered an ex officio member of all committees but does not have the right to vote. His challenge is that we cannot exclude the right to vote since, by definition, an ex officio member has voting rights. As a member of the committee that oversees the by laws and policies and procedures, I believe that we can restrict voting rights if we state it as such in the by laws. Right or wrong?
