Chris Harrison Posted November 30, 2013 at 02:40 PM Report Share Posted November 30, 2013 at 02:40 PM Just a shot in the dark, but what about when a debatable Appeal is pending and someone moves the Previous Question (which is undebatable) which is defeated having not received a 2/3 vote and someone raises a Point of Order that only a majority vote is required and Appeals the ruling that the Point is Not Well Taken? Edit: Never mind. I just read SDC #2(a) on page 256 which makes my idea a no-go.

Could someone hoke up an example, please. If, while a debatable motion is immediately pending, an undebatable motion is made and ruled out of order by the chair before he states the question on it, and an appeal is taken from that ruling, the undebatable motion, which is not pending, is involved in the appeal. The appeal, therefore, is undebatable.
