Dan Honemann Posted August 23, 2014 at 11:11 AM Report Share Posted August 23, 2014 at 11:11 AM If a board recommends a slate of names for a committee can one challenge those names submitted What do you mean by "challenge" the submitted names? A few more facts would help.
jstackpo Posted August 23, 2014 at 11:12 AM Report Share Posted August 23, 2014 at 11:12 AM I'm not quite sure what you have in mind by "challenge", but (unless bylaws say otherwise one way or another) you can certainly nominate other candidates to the committee and vote for them. That will certainly be viewed as a "challenge" by the board's nominees. Thomas Ralph Posted August 25, 2014 at 07:24 PM Report Share Posted August 25, 2014 at 07:24 PM One should also be aware that votes are taken for individuals for offices individually. It is not the case that the entire slate must be voted on in one go on an up/down basis. A member not desiring to elect a particular nominee should (nominate and) vote for someone different. "Challenging" a name submitted has no meaning under RONR.
