Richard Brown Posted April 6, 2015 at 02:49 PM Report Share Posted April 6, 2015 at 02:49 PM RONR (Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised, 11th edition) does not address the administrative or managerial duties or powers of the president outside of a meeting. RONR is limited to meeting procedures. The powers of the president should be enumerated in your bylaws.
Rev Ed Posted April 6, 2015 at 05:54 PM Report Share Posted April 6, 2015 at 05:54 PM And even in RONR, the President's authority only goes as far as the assembly allows, assuming that the President also acts as Chairman. The assembly controls its own meetings, and can over rule, censure, and remove (temporarily or permanently) the President/Chairman.
