psfisher Posted April 16, 2015 at 10:14 PM Report Share Posted April 16, 2015 at 10:14 PM Can the President delegate the conduct of a meeting to the Vice President, if the President is still sitting with the Officer's of the Board (i.e. if the President is still present can he delegate the conduct of the meeting to the VP). It was suggested to me that the President had to leave the meeting if he delegate the conduct to another officer.
Edgar Guest Posted April 16, 2015 at 10:17 PM Report Share Posted April 16, 2015 at 10:17 PM If both the president and the vice-president are present and the president steps down from the chair, the vice-president automatically becomes the presiding officer. If the assembly (the members present) wants someone else to preside, they are free (by a two-thirds vote) to suspend the rules and select someone else. No one has to (or should) leave the meeting. And it doesn't matter where anyone is sitting.
