Jackie Merritt Posted January 6, 2017 at 10:22 PM Report Share Posted January 6, 2017 at 10:22 PM I am the Lifestyle Director in charge of Chartered clubs for a community association. (me again) Just found out that a club board gave themselves each a $50 gift card as an end of the year present. Bylaws state they serve without compensation. Would you ask them to give the money back to the club? thanks again! jackie merritt sun city hilton head
Hieu H. Huynh Posted January 6, 2017 at 10:34 PM Report Share Posted January 6, 2017 at 10:34 PM That is up to the club to decide.

This is such a clear violation, it is obvious that your club board does not read the bylaws, or does not believe the bylaws. You can't have such people in leadership positions. It is a corrupting influence.
Richard Brown Posted January 7, 2017 at 03:09 AM Report Share Posted January 7, 2017 at 03:09 AM I agree with Mr Huynh . It is up to the club to decide how to handle this issue. In addition, although some may consider the gifts to be compensation, that is not for us to decide.
