Golfer Posted January 14, 2017 at 11:22 PM Report Share Posted January 14, 2017 at 11:22 PM We have a member who wants to change the bylaws quote "The president shall exercise general supervision over business affairs of the club as per bylaws and committee's and approval by that committee's board of director"(the committee chair). It is worded poorly but what he is trying to do is remove board approval requirement for committee suggestions. Is there anything out there that allows a committee precedence over a board vote or approval?
jstackpo Posted January 15, 2017 at 12:18 AM Report Share Posted January 15, 2017 at 12:18 AM Not in RONR, but your bylaws could introduce such a rule (or any rule you like) no matter how foolish it might be.

If that is what is desired, why couldn't you simply strike out the requirement for board approval from the bylaws?
