Guest Gfrye26 Posted December 11, 2017 at 04:54 PM Report Share Posted December 11, 2017 at 04:54 PM The newly elected president of my organization does not currently hold the right to vote. Our bylaws state 10% of activities to maintain membership and 20% to vote. The new president only holds 13%. What if any rules does this Violate
Richard Brown Posted December 11, 2017 at 05:03 PM Report Share Posted December 11, 2017 at 05:03 PM RONR provides that all members have the right to vote, but since bylaws supersede RONR , no rule in RONR is being violated if that is what your bylaws say. Guest Gfrye26 Posted December 11, 2017 at 08:50 PM Report Share Posted December 11, 2017 at 08:50 PM Does the fact that he does not hold a voting percent mean that he is in not good standing with the department?

Only if that is an express provision in your bylaws. Your bylaws will have to define what it takes to not be "in good standing".
George Mervosh Posted December 11, 2017 at 09:11 PM Report Share Posted December 11, 2017 at 09:11 PM From the footnote on p. 6 of RONR - "Members in good standing are those whose rights as members of the assembly are not under suspension as a consequence of disciplinary proceedings or by operation of some specific provision in the bylaws."
