Assuming that the election takes place at a meeting, as it usually would, the members may postpone the election, when it is pending, subject to the rules for the Postpone To a Certain Time. Guest Who's Coming to Dinner Posted January 20, 2018 at 09:14 PM Report Share Posted January 20, 2018 at 09:14 PM But can they move it to March? I would say only if the members, at the January meeting, set an adjourned meeting for March, and that meeting takes place before the next regular meeting. Moreover, the board has no power to postpone the election if this is to take place at a meeting of the general membership.

Who will be doing the electing? The board or the general membership? Do the elections take place at a board meeting or at a general membership meeting? What, exactly, do your bylaws say about the annual meeting and when the elections shall take place? Please quote the bylaw provision exactly. Their next regular meeting is in March. 2. There next regular meeting is after March and they establish an adjourn meeting in March. 3. They have a regular meeting in February. They postpone the election to the February meeting, and when it becomes pending in Fenruary, they postpone it until March.
