Guest Mercedes Posted November 16, 2018 at 08:10 AM Report Share Posted November 16, 2018 at 08:10 AM Our bylaws say the Exec Board can call Special Meetings with one week notice. What are the rules regarding non EB members calling a special meeting?

delia07niu Posted January 23, 2019 at 01:18 AM Report Share Posted January 23, 2019 at 01:18 AM Would you happen to know where in RONR does it state this? I need the answer for this question as well.
Atul Kapur Posted January 23, 2019 at 02:09 AM Report Share Posted January 23, 2019 at 02:09 AM I don't have the book in front of me right now, but there is a section called Principles of Interpretation of Bylaws. One of those principles is that if the bylaws specifically allow something, then other things of the same class are prohibited. In your case, the bylaws allow special meetings when they are called by the executive board. Therefore, special meetings called by anyone else are prohibited. The answer above assumes that you have given us all the information about what your bylaws say about special meetings.
