Motion to Adjourn

I belong to 2 organizations the first has a line in the By-Laws that a motion to adjourn is always in order, the second does not.  In the second would a motion to adjourn also always be in order even though it is not stated in the By-Laws?  Adjournment is not listed in the order of business for the meetings.

If your organization has adopted RONR, then a motion to adjourn is always in order no matter whether the bylaws say it is or are silent on the matter.

Except when the privileged motion to Fix the Time to Which to Adjourn is pending, or when a vote is being taken or verified, or before the result has been announced, unless the vote was by ballot and the ballots have been collected.

True of course, per RONR, which then raises the question whether wfd086's first organization which includes "always in order" in the bylaws, has superseded those exceptions.  Questions like this are why it is best NOT to restate RONR's rules in your bylaws.
