Guest Town Admin Posted April 30, 2019 at 05:43 PM Report Share Posted April 30, 2019 at 05:43 PM Can a member of a council refuse to hold his vote during a called vote to break a tie on the same topic but at a different meeting? Like next week rather than contemporaneously?
Drake Savory Posted April 30, 2019 at 05:51 PM Report Share Posted April 30, 2019 at 05:51 PM No if anyone else has already voted. Holding his vote doesn't prolong the voting, it would be an abstention. p 408: Interruption of votes

Do you mean "can he refuse to cast his vote"? Please explain.

If he does not vote by the time the roll call is over, he will have abstained. There's no way to delay until next week.
