Guest tojoboland1@yahoo.com Posted February 17, 2024 at 12:59 AM Report Share Posted February 17, 2024 at 12:59 AM I currently am an elected Executive Board member of a union. We just received the resignation of another elected officer. Our Laws and By-Laws state that the Executive Board fill the position that has been vacated. My question is, "if I am interested in seeking appointment to this position do I need to recuse myself from the appointment process?" Thank you, Todd
Rob Elsman Posted February 17, 2024 at 01:31 AM Report Share Posted February 17, 2024 at 01:31 AM Nothing in RONR (12th ed.) requires you to abstain from voting; indeed, I would think you have a duty to vote for yourself if you think you are the best candidate to fill the office.
