Guest Kim Korth Posted December 15, 2010 at 09:02 PM Report Share Posted December 15, 2010 at 09:02 PM We have a 10 member Board of Directors who are voting on a motion. Five originally voted for it, Four voted against it and one abstained. Now one of the yes voters wants to repeal their vote until iscussion can be done. Can she repeal her vote after already placing it?

Josh Martin Posted December 16, 2010 at 02:43 AM Report Share Posted December 16, 2010 at 02:43 AM Can she repeal her vote after already placing it?It's possible, but it's way past the time limit for that now. See the link Mr. Mervosh provided for more details in case this comes up again. At a later meeting, the member may move to Rescind the motion if she wishes. This requires a 2/3 vote, vote of a majority of the entire membership, or majority vote with previous notice for adoption.

Can she repeal her vote after already placing it?You mean you vote before you discuss the motion? You might want to reconsider that method. As you can see, it can be problematic.
