Guest guest Posted December 17, 2010 at 05:31 AM Report Share Posted December 17, 2010 at 05:31 AM The following is taken from our bylaws regarding election of officers. In specifically stating the month in which to appoint a nominating committee and specifically stating the month for nominations to be submitted, and stating that "nominations for elected positions will be accepted from the floor" in the November meeting, does this mean that nominations are closed after that November meeting, and should not be opened again at our December election meeting?A nominating committee, consisting of a chairperson and two members, shall be appointed by the President with approval of the Active Membership, at the September General Membership meeting.SECTION 2: ROSTER OF OFFICERSNominations shall be submitted to the General Membership at the November meeting, at which time nominations for elected positions will be accepted from the floor. Guest Robby Himes Posted December 17, 2010 at 12:49 PM Report Share Posted December 17, 2010 at 12:49 PM so does this mean that after the voting is complete .. the voting polls must remain open for another 10 days... the voting is complete everyone in the organization has voted who wanted to vote.do we leave the voting polls open for another 10 days.this is very confusing for me as i can not understand why we would do so. Now you're talking about leaving the polls open. Nominating and voting are two different things.
Gary Novosielski Posted December 18, 2010 at 03:28 AM Report Share Posted December 18, 2010 at 03:28 AM Nominations shall be submitted to the General Membership at the November meeting, at which time nominations for elected positions will be accepted from the floor. When for any reason it is desired to reopen nominations, this can be done with a majority vote.
