Guest Lois Smith Posted January 13, 2011 at 03:30 PM Report Share Posted January 13, 2011 at 03:30 PM Our organization has no quorum requirement, but at the last meeting the board felt more members should be present to have an election. Someone suggested the board send out absentee ballots for the next meeting to get more votes. We have a bylaw that states the voting is held in spring and voting is done by "those present". Can the board sent out the ballots and make them count?

Weldon Merritt Posted January 13, 2011 at 04:54 PM Report Share Posted January 13, 2011 at 04:54 PM Our organization has no quorum requirement, . . . .Unless you mean that your bylaws actually say that you do not need a quorum to coduct business (higly improbable, but possible I suppose), you do have a quorum requirement. By default, it is a majority of your voting membership.
