Guest Beth Posted September 11, 2011 at 09:39 PM Report Share Posted September 11, 2011 at 09:39 PM Our by-laws require the nominating committee to meet in July and submit to the Club the nominations in August so they can be published to all club members before the September meeting. The September meeting is when nominations can also be taken from the floor. The committee did not submit until September. Does this make their nominations "null and void" and require all nominations come from the floor in the September meeting? George Mervosh Posted September 11, 2011 at 09:44 PM Report Share Posted September 11, 2011 at 09:44 PM I doubt it, and It won't matter in reality. If the assembly forbids the committee from reporting, when nominations from the floor come up in September, what will stop the Nominating Committee Chair from getting up and nominating someone for every office? Won't everyone know that it came from his/her committee?
Guest Beth Posted September 11, 2011 at 09:47 PM Report Share Posted September 11, 2011 at 09:47 PM We want to nominate someone for one office who is on that "slate" in a different office. We assume that if that is submitted, then she cannot be nominated for two offices at the same time so would have to drop one or the other. If it is void, it would be easier to nominate her for the office we want her to run for since it is higher and would be called first.

Tim Wynn Posted September 11, 2011 at 09:52 PM Report Share Posted September 11, 2011 at 09:52 PM RONR doesn't prohibit being nominated for multiple offices or being elected to or serving in multiple offices. Do your rules?
