Guest Nancy W. guest Posted September 14, 2011 at 05:22 PM Report Share Posted September 14, 2011 at 05:22 PM When an nonprofit organization elects officers by ballot and the election results are announced, should the number of votes received by each candidate be publicly announced or stated? Or should a winner be declared without announcing the actual tally? Example: Jane Doe - 150 votes, Joe Smith - 22 votes.

Guest BoardMom Posted September 16, 2011 at 02:05 AM Report Share Posted September 16, 2011 at 02:05 AM Related to voting, but heading in a different direction...Election was held, members voted. There was a sign in sheet, some members provided signatures, some didn't. Some signed in for spouses, friends, etc., but this wasn't discovered until after adjournment. After the vote, there was a review to verify voters vs. active club members. Errors were discovered which could have an impact on the results of the vote. There were more ballots than names on the sign in sheet, and names on the sheet were not on the master membership list. What is the best course of action to take? Please and thanks!
