Governance Posted June 5, 2012 at 08:38 PM Report Share Posted June 5, 2012 at 08:38 PM Hi, we recenlty had a meeting where we lost quorum towards the end and althoguh we had rearranged the agenda so that only items for information were left, ii don't know how to properly record these last items in our minutes. Normally, there is still a vote to receive the item for information and it is recorded as being carried or not. However, since there could not be any votes, are these items simply recorded as "received for information" and must they be brought to a subsequent meeting with quorum to be voted on (to be received)? You input is appreciated! So something like, "At 8:15, due to the loss of quorum, the meeting recessed. Following attempts to obtain a quorum, the meeting was adjourned at 8:45".And, by the way, you don't vote to receive items. You just receive them. Tim Wynn Posted June 5, 2012 at 09:46 PM Report Share Posted June 5, 2012 at 09:46 PM And, by the way, you don't vote to receive items. You just receive them. There is nothing wrong with an assembly voting to receive a report or presentation, if the item in question does not have an established time for its reception, though unanimous consent would usually be employed. It would be similar to what is described in RONR (11th ed.), p. 529, ll. 1-2.
