Guest marda Posted September 24, 2012 at 05:54 PM Report Share Posted September 24, 2012 at 05:54 PM Does an association need to have a vice president? In the constitution, vice president is stated as one of the officers. This position was filled by election but that person has resigned. No one else is interested in the position. Chris Harrison Posted September 24, 2012 at 06:06 PM Report Share Posted September 24, 2012 at 06:06 PM The Vice President isn't one of the essential officers that RONR says every body needs (presiding officer and secretary). However, if the bylaws specify the VP as one of the officers you all should do everything in your power to get someone to take the position. No one else is interested in the position. It does, if its bylaws say it does. If nobody is interested, you can always elect someone who's not interested. Often they will accept.
