George Mervosh Posted February 22, 2013 at 09:06 PM Report Share Posted February 22, 2013 at 09:06 PM Under the rules in RONR it takes a majority vote to adopt a motion for a roll call vote, so yes.
Guest Edgar Posted February 22, 2013 at 09:08 PM Report Share Posted February 22, 2013 at 09:08 PM Well, a motion to conduct a vote by roll-call can certainly be defeated. And roll-call votes are rarely appropriate.
Gary Novosielski Posted February 24, 2013 at 02:05 AM Report Share Posted February 24, 2013 at 02:05 AM Can a request for a role call vote by a voting member ever be denied? It wouldn't be a "request", it would be a motion. So, it could easily be denied if it failed to get a second, or if it was seconded but didn't get majority approval.

Josh Martin Posted July 23, 2013 at 02:39 PM Report Share Posted July 23, 2013 at 02:39 PM in the minutes, when there is a split roll call vote, how do I write it up?do I list all by name?? or just the number of votes on either side. By definition, you would record the names and votes of all members for a roll call vote, whether or not the vote is split. For future reference, it's generally best to post a new question as a new topic on this forum, even if an existing topic seems similar.
