Guest Andrea Griffin Posted April 13, 2015 at 10:02 AM Report Share Posted April 13, 2015 at 10:02 AM If the bylaws allow for a deputy commissioner to vote on behalf of the commissioner (if the commissioner is absent), can the commissioner vote at the meeting if she/he holds a second voting position? Unfortunately, this is not a question about Robert's Rules -- it's a question about your bylaws.

Not unless the commissioner has figured out a way to be both "absent" and "at the meeting" at the same time. (Is the commissioner's gender actually unknown?)
