Should this person recuse themself from handling the vote on this matter?
jstackpo Posted May 18, 2015 at 01:56 PM Report Share Posted May 18, 2015 at 01:56 PM I take it your "election committee" is equivalent to RONR's "Tellers Committee" -- they count and report on the votes. There is no requirement in RONR for a teller to recuse him/herself just because he has an interest in the outcome, except in extreme ("direct personal interest") cases. Indeed, RONR suggests that contrary view holders should be on the committee (p. 414) -- they can keep an eye on each other....
Edgar Guest Posted May 18, 2015 at 02:04 PM Report Share Posted May 18, 2015 at 02:04 PM Why is an election committee "handling the vote" on a motion to expand the clubhouse? It's not an election.
