Chris Harrison Posted September 28, 2015 at 06:40 PM Report Share Posted September 28, 2015 at 06:40 PM I don't know what you mean by "recalled" but a defeated motion can be renewed at the next session.
Weldon Merritt Posted September 28, 2015 at 06:41 PM Report Share Posted September 28, 2015 at 06:41 PM I'm not sure what you mean by "recalled," but the motion certainly can be made again ("renewed") at the next meeting. And if it fails at that meeting, it can be renewed at the following one, and so on ad infinitum.
Edgar Guest Posted September 28, 2015 at 07:37 PM Report Share Posted September 28, 2015 at 07:37 PM . . . and so on ad infinitum. Or ad nauseam.
Weldon Merritt Posted September 28, 2015 at 10:24 PM Report Share Posted September 28, 2015 at 10:24 PM Or ad nauseam. Yes; after a couple of times, it may get to be that way. But regardless of how distasteful the motion may be to the majority, unless there is somthing about the motion itself that renders it not in order, it may be made as often as the maker wants to make it (at separate sessions, of course). There are, however, ways that the assembly can very quickly dispose of it without wasting a lot of time. (Object to Consideration of the Question or Previous Quetsion are the most obvious.)
