Gödel Fan Posted October 31, 2015 at 11:30 PM Report Share Posted October 31, 2015 at 11:30 PM A member can move the previous question which requires a 2/3 vote for adoption(and is out of order in committee). If the previous question is ordered, the assembly moves to a vote on the pending motion (if more than one item is pending, the member should be specific as to whether they are moving to order the previous question on all pending questions or the immediately pending question). A member cannot, by their own command, end debate and make a vote happen (although somehow it become a popular mistake to think that shouting "question" without recognition accomplishes that). Gary Novosielski Posted November 1, 2015 at 12:21 AM Report Share Posted November 1, 2015 at 12:21 AM And the motion is not in order while another has the floor, so it can't be done immediately.
