Guest Antonia Posted May 31, 2016 at 01:40 AM Report Share Posted May 31, 2016 at 01:40 AM We had a business meeting that the new business became so controversial member just left there was no motion to Adjorn, does anything need to be stated at beginning of next meeting to Adjorn previous and should it be listed in meeting minutes that no motion was made to Adjorn? Hieu H. Huynh Posted May 31, 2016 at 01:55 AM Report Share Posted May 31, 2016 at 01:55 AM No, the meeting was adjourned. The minutes would say the time everyone left.
jstackpo Posted May 31, 2016 at 02:08 AM Report Share Posted May 31, 2016 at 02:08 AM If you can sort out the controversy and discover that a motion was actually pending when the meeting ended with everybody walking out -- and it is crystal clear what the motion is, check the minutes -- then the motion should come up automatically as "Unfinished Business" at your next meeting. Kim Goldsworthy Posted May 31, 2016 at 02:17 AM Report Share Posted May 31, 2016 at 02:17 AM The minutes should just say something to the effect . . . "The quorum was lost at 8:35 p.m." No need to do any special ceremony at your next meeting to "close" a quorum-lost meeting of last month.
