intrmom Posted August 5, 2017 at 01:55 AM Report Share Posted August 5, 2017 at 01:55 AM When a person is nominated for a position on the Board of Directors is it in order for other members to ask questions of that person before voting? Gary Novosielski Posted August 5, 2017 at 02:15 AM Report Share Posted August 5, 2017 at 02:15 AM RONR tells us that nominations are debatable, but doesn't give much advice about exactly how to manage this debate. But we do know that during debate, a member who has the floor may ask (through the chair) whether someone else would agree to answer a question. Note that the person is under no obligation to answer the question, but if I'm running for office I suspect I would agree to answer pretty much any reasonable question that a member might have. J. J. Posted August 6, 2017 at 11:01 PM Report Share Posted August 6, 2017 at 11:01 PM The member may use his time in debate asking questions of a candidate. The candidate doesn't have to answer.
