The term is one year as vice president and the next year as president. This is of concern since the person has never attended a meeting. Please quote exactly, don't paraphrase. Also, is this person to be elected at the regular annual elections, or is he being elected prior to the regular elections to fill the vacancy in the office of the vice president? The Vice President will assume to office of President the following year. There is nothing else in the constitution about the election of officers. If there is controversy, raise a point of order, let the chair rule, then appeal if you don't like the ruling. Your situation may be complicated by the answer to this question: did the preceding Vice President leave office during the first year or was no one elected until now?
