Guest Jeanne Posted February 26, 2018 at 11:52 PM Report Share Posted February 26, 2018 at 11:52 PM In the minutes, the secretary recorded as an action to be taken that the board requested the executive director complete a task. In a subsequent conversation between the executive director and the president of the board, they decided that the action was ill advised. They would like to strike the action from the minutes of the meeting. Given that it is not a formal board action, only something they asked the executive director to do, can it be removed from the draft minutes? Weldon Merritt Posted February 27, 2018 at 12:05 AM Report Share Posted February 27, 2018 at 12:05 AM If this was not "not a formal board action," it probably shouldn't have been in the minutes in the first place.

And, likely, shouldn't have been asked either.
Guest Student Posted February 27, 2018 at 06:00 AM Report Share Posted February 27, 2018 at 06:00 AM "... recorded as an action to be taken that the board requested the executive director complete a task." If the board made the request by adopting a motion, then making the request is a formal action of the board. If not, how did the board make the request? Tom Coronite Posted February 27, 2018 at 02:07 PM Report Share Posted February 27, 2018 at 02:07 PM If these are draft minutes, as the OP states, why not simply offer a correction to remove the statement when the minutes are being approved?
