Guest Valerie Posted December 3, 2019 at 09:35 PM Report Share Posted December 3, 2019 at 09:35 PM In our dues paying organization, Active members are allowed to vote but our Associate members are not as stated in our bylaws. We are presenting a proposed bylaw change to increase the dues of all members. We will want to allow the Associate members to vote as this affects their finances. Can a motion be made to suspend the bylaw to allow them to vote? And, if so, can it be done in the board meeting only or will it need to be presented to the membership? Thanks! jstackpo Posted December 3, 2019 at 10:13 PM Report Share Posted December 3, 2019 at 10:13 PM But, if there was or is time, you could amend your bylaws. This might, of course, substantially blur the line(s) between Associate Members and regular general members. The choice is up to you.
