Captain-Jim Posted December 22, 2019 at 04:32 PM Report Share Posted December 22, 2019 at 04:32 PM What does the assistant to the president of a volunteer organization do? What powers does the person have? The appointment is not address in the by-laws. The president is making the appointment.
Rob Elsman Posted December 22, 2019 at 04:47 PM Report Share Posted December 22, 2019 at 04:47 PM RONR does not mention an "assistant to the president". Were I you, I would be asking by what authority is the president acting to make the appointment and by what authority would the assistant act to do whatever the assistant is expected to do. Richard Brown Posted December 22, 2019 at 05:33 PM Report Share Posted December 22, 2019 at 05:33 PM The president is probably free to ask anyone he wants to to help him with his duties and to give that person whatever title he wants to, but, unless the bylaws authorize the position, it is not an official position or appointment and has no official status.
