Guest Barbara Baxter Posted March 12, 2021 at 09:22 PM Report Share Posted March 12, 2021 at 09:22 PM When should our club (membership 350) require the Board to get a vote from the general membership on an expenditure. Should there be a maximum amount (ie; $500) before approval of the expense?

Maybe In other older motions that are still in effect (like budgets) Maybe there are rules governing this sort of expenditure in law , (is it an expenditure or an investment, can it be seen as a breach of de fiduciary duty of the board?) If you are a boardmember you can make a motion that the membership should decide, that would be the safest option.

It is up to your organization to ddetermine at what point (if any) membership approval of an expenditure should be required.
