Committee minutes approval

Since official "minutes" aren't really recorded in a committee meeting, should the "memorandum in the nature of minutes" (50:24) be formally approved at the next committee meeting or simply read out loud or handed out prior to the meeting as a refresher of what transpired at the previous meeting?

Is it wrong to vote on their approval?

Since voting on notes would have no discernible effect, it could be considered dilatory, and therefore not in order.  If there is actually something wrong with the notes, a member could seek to have it corrected, or simply point out the error.

The formal decisions of a committee are embodied in its Report(s), which should be carefully considered by the committee and voted upon.
