Gary Novosielski Posted November 4, 2022 at 02:47 AM Report Share Posted November 4, 2022 at 02:47 AM Presuming your nomination process is such that these names are known, there's no reason to keep it a secret.

Agreeing with Mr. Novosielski, RONR has no rule one way or the other either requiring or prohibiting providing the names of the nominees in advance. I agree with him that I see no reason to keep the names of the nominees a secret. It seems to me to be a much better practice to announce the names of the nominees as far in advance as possible so that members can be thinking about whether they want to nominate someone else from the floor. Rob Elsman Posted November 4, 2022 at 01:58 PM Report Share Posted November 4, 2022 at 01:58 PM There is nothing in RONR (12th ed.) that prohibits the Nominating Committee from presenting its report at a meeting some time in advance of the annual meeting, which would give the nominees a chance to take on the hustings. This might be advantageous in larger organizations whose members are not well acquainted.
