If the organization chairman and secretary are present at a shareholders' meeting, is it necessary to elect a temporary chairman and temporary secretary?

Nothing in RONR would require it.

Guest Beeman, agreeing with JJ,  I’m curious as to why you think it might be necessary to elect a Chairman and Secretary pro tem if the regular Chairman and Secretary are present? Is there some reason why the regular Chairman and Secretary should not fulfill those roles?

Fair enough, but sometimes it turns out you've always done it that way because of something in your bylaws or your state's corporate law.
