Board voting

Can the Board of Directors reverse the decision of the general body? Our general body voted on an executive position and the vote was tied. After the meeting, the board of directors was to hold a meeting to decide on who was to take the position. Can the Board put the same person in that position even if the general body voted no.

If the vote was tied, neither person received a majority. The board of directors has no power to grant the position to either person. The membership elects people, not the board.

But the membership must continue to do its job. They have to continue to vote until they can elect someone by a majority vote. They don't get to vote "no". They only get to vote "who".
