George Mervosh Posted February 11, 2011 at 02:41 PM Report Share Posted February 11, 2011 at 02:41 PM If you mean this, no:"Likewise, motions are out of order if they conflict with a motion that has been adopted by the society and has been neither rescinded, nor reconsidered and rejected after adoption. Such conflicting motions, if adopted, are null and void unless adopted by the vote required to rescind or amend the motion previously adopted.Motions are also improper when they present practically the same question as a motion previously decided at the same session." Gerry4000 Posted February 11, 2011 at 08:40 PM Report Share Posted February 11, 2011 at 08:40 PM If a motion was approved and carried, can another motion on the same topic be made at the next meeting without rescinding the first motion. There would be no problem if the subsequent motion did not affect the previous motion. So, if a motion passed that smoking is prohibited in the Gazeebo, then a later motion to prohibit drinking alcohol in the Gazeebo would be in order.
