Guest John Posted July 12, 2011 at 03:52 PM Report Share Posted July 12, 2011 at 03:52 PM What is the time limit for a Board of Commissioners for a municipality to reconsider a motion that passed? When new information is presented cannot the Board take action with a reconsideration or amendment to a previously passed motion without regard to time passed? George Mervosh Posted July 12, 2011 at 03:55 PM Report Share Posted July 12, 2011 at 03:55 PM For reconsideration:"The making of this motion is subject to time limits, as follows: In a session of one day - such as an ordinary meeting of a club or a one-day convention - the motion to Reconsider can be made only on the same day the vote to be reconsidered was taken. In a convention or session of more than one day, a reconsideration can be moved only on the same day the original vote was taken or on the next succeeding day within the session on which a business meeting is held. These time limitations do not apply to standing or special committees (see pp. 318-19)." RONR, p. 305There are no such time limits for amending somthing previously adopted (RONR, p. 293ff)

That bus has sailed. At this point, a motion to Amend Something Previously Adopted would be required.
