SPOUSES SERVING ON SAME BOARD

We have a VERY unethical board of directors here. In other word they do as they please no matter what the property owners want. At one time we have 5 "appointed" board members who served the full term and not until the next election which is yearly. Now they want to allow spouses to serve on the same board together. Is this legal or is it just an ethical matter? BTW the way some are elected is also questionalbe. We just can't catch them stuffing ballot boxes however we also cannot fine anyone who voted for these people.

This not a parliamentary issue. It is not really a legal issue either. However, it could be called an ethical issue only if you want to. It is up to the general members to dictate what occurs at their meeting. Unless the By-laws require a ballot vote, the members could demand a vote by any other means, such as by standing, raising hands, etc.

If you can't catch someone who is stuffing ballot boxes, then your election procedure may be in need of improvement.
